Ingredients

2 lb. potatoes, peeled and cubed

4 cloves of garlic, minced

½ cup milk

¼ cup unsalted butter

kosher salt and pepper, to taste

fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Recipe Steps

Step 1

Bring the cubed potatoes and minced garlic to a boil over high heat in a large pot. Reduce the heat to medium-low and let the potatoes simmer for 15-20 minutes or until they are fork-tender.

Step 2

Drain the water from the pot and return the potatoes and garlic to the pot.

Step 3

Add the milk, unsalted butter, salt, and pepper to the pot.

Step 4

Use a potato masher or a hand mixer to mash the potatoes and mix all the ingredients until they are smooth and creamy.

Step 5

Taste the mashed potatoes and adjust the seasoning if needed.

Step 6

Serve the mashed potatoes in a large bowl, garnished with chopped fresh parsley if desired. You can also add a pat of butter on top of each serving for extra richness and flavor.
