Greetings from the heart of the Brimly Gluten-Free Test Kitchen! Our dedicated team here has been tirelessly working, experimenting, and, yes, tasting (it's a tough job, but someone has to do it!) to bring you the finest gluten-free culinary delights. As time has passed, we've learned to blend the wisdom of experience with the zest of modern culinary innovation. The one thing we know for sure? The classics never go out of style, but they can always use a contemporary twist.

With the holiday season beckoning, we understand the challenge many face: crafting a traditional, comforting meal that caters to today's diverse dietary needs. We've been there, from those days of dry gluten-free rolls to pie crusts that just didn't hold up. Fear not; we've struck gold with our latest creation: the Savory Gluten-Free Turkey Gravy.

This isn't just another gravy. It's a symphony of flavors that captures the essence of the holidays: sharing, caring, and dining with ease. Crafted with precision and the collective wisdom of our seasoned team, this gravy proves that gluten-free can be bursting with flavor, rich in tradition, and—most importantly—shared by all at the table.

So, gather around, and let's make this holiday season the most inclusive and delectable one yet. Cheers from all of us at Brimly!

Ingredients

4 cups turkey drippings

2 cups turkey broth, gluten-free

¼ cup cornstarch

¼ cup cold water

2 Tbsp. unsalted butter

1 tsp. freshly chopped thyme (optional)

Salt and pepper, to taste

Recipe Steps

Step 1

After roasting your turkey, remove it from the roasting pan and pour the drippings into a fat separator or let it settle in a bowl. Skim off and discard the fat, keeping the flavorful liquid.

Step 2

Combine the turkey drippings and turkey broth in a large saucepan. Begin to heat this mixture over medium heat.

Step 3

While the liquid is heating, whisk together the cornstarch and cold water in a separate small bowl until smooth to create a slurry.

Step 4

Once the drippings and broth mixture is hot but not boiling, slowly whisk in the cornstarch slurry. Continue whisking until the gravy starts to thicken.

Step 5

Reduce the heat to low and stir in the unsalted butter until melted.

Step 6

Once the gravy has reached your desired consistency, remove it from heat.

Remember: If it becomes too thick, thin it out with a little more broth.

Step 7

Transfer the gravy to a gravy boat or serving dish and top with fresh chopped thyme. Serve hot over your turkey or side dishes, and enjoy the rich, gluten-free flavor!
