Ingredients
4 chicken thighs, bone-in, skin-on
2 Tbsp. gluten-free soy sauce
2 Tbsp. honey
1 Tbsp. balsamic vinegar
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp. dried thyme
1 tsp. paprika
½ tsp. kosher salt
¼ tsp. black pepper
2 ripe sweet pears, peeled, cored, and cubed
1 cup gluten-free chicken broth
½ cup heavy cream
2 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
2 Tbsp. fresh parsley, garnish
Recipe Steps
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 350°F.
Step 2
Whisk together the soy sauce, honey, balsamic vinegar, minced garlic, dried thyme, paprika, salt, and black pepper in a small bowl.
Step 3
Place the chicken thighs in a large bowl and pour the marinade over them. Make sure the chicken is well coated. Let it marinate for about 15 minutes.
Step 4
Heat olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the chicken thighs, skin-side down, and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Flip the chicken and cook for an additional 3 minutes.
Step 5
Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
Step 6
In the same skillet, add the cubed pears and cook for 1-2 minutes.
Step 7
Pour in the chicken broth and bring it to a simmer. Let it cook for another 2-3 minutes.
Step 8
Stir in the heavy cream and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
Step 9
Return the chicken thighs to the skillet, skin-side up, and transfer the skillet to the preheated oven.
Step 10
Bake for 20-25 minutes until the chicken is cooked and the pears tender.
Step 11
Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes.
Step 12
Serve the braised chicken thighs with sweet pears over a bed of gluten-free grains, such as quinoa or rice.
Step 13
Garnish with fresh parsley, and enjoy!
