Have a glimpse into the vibrant world of Hibiscus Turmeric Tea, where the tart-sweet burst of hibiscus meets the earthy depth of turmeric. This drink is more than the delight it brings to the eyes with its deep ruby glow; it also tantalizes the taste buds with its complex flavor profile. Each sip is a balanced blend of sharp hibiscus and warm, grounding turmeric, sweetened to perfection with cane sugar.

Crafting this tea is a journey in itself, with dried hibiscus flowers easily found in specialty stores or online, bringing a piece of the exotic to your kitchen. Serve chilled, garnished with a slice of dehydrated orange, for a refreshing and aesthetically pleasing beverage that's as enjoyable to make as it is to drink.

¼ cup water, cold

¼ tsp turmeric powder

3 tsp cane sugar, granulated

½ cup water, room temp

¼ cup hibiscus flowers, dried

½ cup water, hot

ice cubes

Dehydrated orange slice, for garnish

Recipe Steps

Step 1

Combine room-temperature water, turmeric, and sugar in a cup. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. Pour the mixture into a glass.

Step 2

Add ice cubes to the glass with the turmeric mixture.

Step 3

Pour the cold water over ice cubes.

Note: Optionally, dissolve one extra teaspoon of sugar in the cold water in a separate container. Add this sweetened water to the glass over the ice cubes.

Steep the dried hibiscus flowers in hot water for about 5 minutes. Strain the hibiscus tea and add it to the glass.

Step 5

Gently stir the mixture in the glass to combine all the flavors.

Step 6

Top the drink with a dehydrated orange slice for garnish.

Step 7

Serve and enjoy your Hibiscus Turmeric Tea!
