Sweet Treat
Donuts are a classic treat that we all know and love, but indulging in this sweet delight is often a no-go for those of us who are gluten intolerant. But fear not, my fellow gluten-free friends! Trust me; these donuts are so good that even gluten-loving friends won't be able to tell the difference.
The key to making these donuts gluten-free is in the flour. I've found that using the Caputo gluten-free flour creates the perfect texture and flavor. And don't be intimidated by the yeast! It's what gives these donuts their classic, doughy taste and texture. Plus, making your donuts is a great way to get creative in the kitchen and impress your loved ones. So grab your apron, preheat your oven, and get baking some heavenly Gluten-Free Yeast Donuts!

Ingredients
3 cups gluten-free flour
1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
5 Tbsp. granulated sugar
2 Tbsp. unsalted butter, melted and cooled
2 large eggs
1 packet instant yeast (rapid rise)
¼ tsp. kosher salt
2 Tbsp. powdered sugar
6 cups corn Oil
Recipe Steps
Step 1
Whisk together the gluten-free flour, powdered sugar, granulated sugar, instant yeast, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
Step 2
Whisk the melted butter, eggs, and milk together in a separate bowl.
Step 3
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until a smooth dough forms. The dough will be sticky.
Step 4
Lightly dust a surface with gluten-free flour and turn the dough out onto it.
Step 5
Roll the dough out to about 1 inch thickness.
Step 6
Use a donut cutter or two round cookie cutters (one larger, one smaller) to cut out the donuts. Place the cutout donuts and donut holes on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
Step 7
Cover the baking sheet with a damp kitchen towel and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
Step 8
Heat about 2-3 inches of oil in a deep fryer or heavy-bottomed pot to 350°F.
Step 9
Gently place the donuts into the hot oil, a few at a time, and fry until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes per side.
Step 10
Use a slotted spoon to transfer the donuts to a paper towel-lined plate to cool. Repeat with the remaining donuts and donut holes.
Step 11
Once the donuts have cooled slightly, add your desired toppings, such as powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar, glaze, or any other topping you choose.
Step 12
Serve the gluten-free yeast donuts warm, and enjoy!
Remember:
These gluten-free yeast donuts are best enjoyed on the same day they are made. You can store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
