Plus, it's a healthier alternative to traditional ice cream, so you can indulge in a guilt-free treat that will impress your guests.

Let me tell you a little story about how I fell in love with sorbet. One summer, I was vacationing in Manhattan, NY, and stumbled upon a quaint little gelato shop around town. As I perused the flavors, I noticed a bright and vibrant mango sorbet that caught my eye. So I decided to try it, and to my surprise, it was unlike any frozen treat I had ever tasted. The texture was silky and smooth, and the flavor was sweet and tangy, with just a hint of tartness. From then on, sorbet goodness captured me, and the Mango Freeze Sorbet quickly became my go-to recipe. So, if you're looking for a delicious and refreshing dessert to impress your guests, grab some mangoes and let's get started!

Ingredients

3 ripe mangoes, peeled and chopped

½ cup water

½ cup sugar, granulated

2 Tbsp. fresh lime juice

Pinch kosher salt

Recipe Steps

Step 1

In a small saucepan, combine the water and sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let cool.

Step 2

In a blender or food processor, puree the chopped mangoes until smooth.

Step 3

Add the cooled sugar syrup, lime juice, and salt to the mango puree. Blend until well combined.

Step 4

Pour the mixture into a shallow, freezer-safe container. Cover and place in the freezer for 1-2 hours or until the edges begin to freeze.

Step 5

Using a fork, scrape the frozen edges of the mixture towards the center. Repeat this process every 30 minutes for 2-3 hours or until the mixture is completely frozen and has a slushy, sorbet-like texture.

Step 6

Once the mixture is thoroughly frozen and has a sorbet-like texture, it's ready to serve. Transfer the mango sorbet to serving dishes and enjoy immediately. You can also store any leftovers in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 1 week.

Remember:

You can also use frozen mango chunks instead of fresh mangoes to make this recipe. If you do so, skip step 1 and blend the frozen mango chunks with the sugar syrup, lime juice, and salt. This will help the mixture blend more easily and freeze faster. Also, adjust the sugar and lime juice amount to suit your taste preferences. Then, enjoy your refreshing and fruity Mango Freeze Sorbet!
